My first smoked pork shoulder

I smoked a pork shoulder on Saturday in honor of my friend Scott visiting Des Moines.

It weighed about eight pounds and took 10 hours to smoke at 225 degrees.

It was delicious.

Saving a plant

I brought this plant to the office today in hopes of saving it - mainly from our cat who thinks it is a cat food plant.

My new office

I started my new job as an instructor at Drake today. Here are a couple shots of the new office.

Google street view caught me mowing the lawn!

Google street view has caught people making out and even kidnappers.

And now - me mowing the lawn. Don't ever take it down Google. Ever.

Bocce Fest 5 casualties

Top 5 casualties from Bocce Fest 5 on Saturday night.

Sarah's car. One of our neighbors actually ran into it with his body trying to run home.

The back yard. A week of rain + heavy thrown projectiles has turned it into a minefield.

This pitcher. The lever fell off. It wasn't a great pitcher to start with.

Bic lighter. Left it out in the rain. Now it won't light.

Sarah. She's still in bed at 1:30 p.m.

T-shirt screenprinting class

I took a t-shirt screenprinting class at 87 Central on Saturday. And I loved it. The class was taught by Jonathan Pearson.

Here are some photos of the shirts I designed and printed for our upcoming bocce party.

I've been seriously considering buying one of these to print my own t-shirts at home. But now I'm thinking I could build my own t-shirt screenprinting operation and start printing up some shirts from home.

Weekend in Evansdale (photos)

I made it home on Saturday to watch my sister do an amazing job in the
play Mayhem in Mayville.

And to take photos of my niece Stephanie before she left for prom.

It's baseball season

I got out and took some little league photos this weekend at Raccoon
River Park.
